Celebrating & Living into the Season of New Life

Glory Center Posting– May 2021

“O Lord, our Sovereign, how majestic is your name in all the earth! When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon & the stars that you have established; what are human beings that you are mindful of them, mortals that you care for them? Yet you have made them a little lower than God & crowned them with glory & honor.

You have given them dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under their feet, all sheep & oxen, & also the beasts of the field, the birds of the air, & the fish of the seas, whatever passes along the paths of the seas. O Lord, our Sovereign, how majestic is your name in all the earth!” (Psalm 8)

The first commandment God gave to humankind at the time of creation was to take care of all of His Creation. That is our calling, & our purpose, to glorify God through our living, protecting God’s awesome creation, which of course includes all humankind.

As we celebrate the gift of new life given to us through the resurrection, we read in the third post resurrection appearance, Jesus asked His disciple Peter saying: “Peter do you love me?” & Peter replied: “Lord you know everything; you know that I love you.” And Jesus replied: “Then feed my sheep.” (meaning, care for all of creation) John 21:17

We can’t get through a single day without having an impact on the world around us. This is our Fathers world. God entrusted us to be stewards of His creation. If we love Him, why not serve Him.

"This in My Fathers World"

This is my Fathers world, & to my listening ears all nature sings & round me rings the music of the spheres. This in my Fathers world; I rest me in the thought of rocks & trees, of skies & seas, His hand the wonders wrought.

This is my Father’s world, the birds their carols raise, the morning light, the lily white, declares their maker’s praise. This is my Father’s world, He shines in all that’s fair; in the rustling grass I hear Him pass; He speaks to me everywhere.

This is my Father’s world, O let me ner’er forget that though that wrong seems oft so strong, God is the ruler yet. This is my Father’s world; why should my heart be sad? The Lord is King; let the heavens ring!

God reigns; let earth be glad!
