Ultimate Wellness & Ultimate Wholeness: Part 2

Giving & Receiving the Fruits of the Spirit

Our Spiritual life is grounded in relationship. It has to do with God’s way of relating to us, & our way of relating to God & to others. Our indwelling Holy Spirit empowers us to live in such a way as to bring the God-given Fruits of the Holy Spirit to life. The Fruits of the Spirit include: love, joy, peace, kindness, compassion, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, & self-control. By God’s Grace, these Divine gifts for our Spiritual life are given as guides for wellbeing & whole living. It is up to us whether we live guided by the Holy Spirit or not. As God’s children created in His image, we are called to live in such a way as to manifest the Fruits of the Spirit & thus promote wellness & whole living for ourselves & for others. We do this by giving to one another & receiving from one another; love, joy, peace, kindness, compassion, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness & self-control to one another. It is not an easy calling, for to quote Williamson:

“Not everyone will be perfect that you will run into today. But the point of life is to see ‘God’ in that person either way. Either they are reflecting back to you the perfection of the child of God or they are reflecting back to you the need that child of God has to be blessed by you so that they can find the way back to the conscious remembrance of that perfection”.

Living our lives, manifesting the gifts of the Holy Spirit is the only way to achieve the balance & harmony of the Body, Mind, & Spirit that leads to ultimate wellness & wholeness. We invite everyone to seek & to follow God’s lead, to extend to others & to receive from others the healing gifts of the Fruits of the Spirit that are given & to humbly accept God’s resulting whole healing Grace. By His Grace, God will lead us.

“Breathe on Me, Breath of God
Fill me with life anew
That I may love what Thou dost love,
And do what Thou wouldst do.

Breathe on Me, Breath of God,
Till I am wholly Thine,
Until this earthly part of me
Glows with Thy fire divine.”
