These inspirational Scriptural based writings, related to challenges, faith, hope, grief, & healing are posted monthly in IHG waiting rooms & the Glory Center to reflect upon, grow from & apply to daily living.
It does seem that if our life was informed by a clear purpose, regardless of the earthly circumstances we find ourselves in, that we would feel more hopeful & secure & be more productive.
Our life is about letting God use us for His purpose. Our purpose is to reflect God’s essence, all of His goodness, love, compassion, justice, & hope, therefore glorifying Him through everything we do.
When we feel hopeless, we need Spiritual feeding in order to feel whole again. God did not create us to suffer. He intended for us to flourish in the light & beauty of life given. Since we are created in the image of God called to reflect His light outward, it is as important for us to nurture our spirit as it is to nurture our bodies & our minds.
Faith in our Holy Living Creator God is the bedrock of all hope & hope is the fuel for our healing. Faith & trust in God, & God’s grace poured out on us, is truly amazing. It can bring healing & wholeness even in the midst of suffering & bring light into an otherwise broken spirit & in that is hope for all who know suffering.
Generally, New Year’s Day is a day filled with eager anticipation & hope as we look forward to the opportunity for a fresh start & all the hidden events & opportunities that await us. In many ways however, I think we can all agree that the feeling this year as we step into the new year, is very different than in previous years, as fear, doubt, & dread fill the overcast skies.
One has to wonder when fear, doubt, pain & hopeless despair threaten to overtake us, how we are able to sustain the hope, peace, joy & receive the love that we experienced as we paused at the manger on Christmas eve.
With Thanksgiving & the month of November behind us, we now step into December & the season referred to as Advent, which means “new beginning”, which is something we all need right now.
May this hymn and prayer be spiritually feeding in this season of Advent
It sometimes just seems easier to complain, worry, & focus on what is going wrong than it is to celebrate God’s presence in our lives & to live reflecting a spirit of gratitude & joy, don’t you think?
